I read an article about the decrease of LCD televisions shipment was lower than last year. 8.9 million shipped last year and this year 8.7 million was shipped. This is a 2 percent decline since last year. Plasma shipment increased 28 percent in the fourth quarter of 2008. The reason for this is the economic climate and extremely cost-conscious buyers. Today plasma television are the hit everyone is buying them. This is the link to the article if anyone wants to view it. It was a very interesting article to me.

  1. I would think the plasma TV would be considered "luxury" appliances and the current economy is having a huge impact on these products.

I have wanted a plasma TV for years now but, as you stated, I have been hestitant to buy one because of price. Hopefully prices will decrease soon.
